Overview

Nhat Viet Media (Truyền Thông Nhất Việt) is a digital marketing agency that manages Google Ads campaigns for businesses of all sizes, including enterprise customers and individual advertisers. We use the Google Ads API to automate campaign creation, manage bidding and budgets, and generate consolidated reporting for our clients.

Primary Use Cases

Campaign Management

Create, update, and pause campaigns, ad groups, and ads programmatically on behalf of our clients. Use cases include bulk campaign onboarding, scheduled changes, and rule-based adjustments.

Automated Optimization & Bidding

Run automated bidding strategies and optimization routines that update bids and budgets using historical performance signals and rules defined by our account managers.

Reporting & Dashboards

Use the Reporting/QueryService to pull performance metrics across managed accounts and present consolidated dashboards (daily/weekly/monthly) to customers.

Account Provisioning

Assist clients with account setup and template-based campaign provisioning so new campaigns follow best-practice structures and naming conventions.

Google Ads API Services Used

We will primarily use the following services:

GoogleAdsService / QueryService — reporting and queries
CampaignService — create/read/update campaigns
AdGroupService — manage ad groups
AdService — create and manage responsive/search ads
BudgetService — manage budgets
CustomerService — link, manage and fetch account details

Authentication & User Access

We use OAuth 2.0 for authentication. Each client authorizes our application via the standard Google OAuth consent flow; we request the minimum OAuth scopes required. After authorization, we store a refresh token which is used to obtain access tokens for API calls on behalf of the client.

Data Handling & Security

Security and privacy are core to our operations. Key controls include:

All communication uses HTTPS (TLS 1.2+).
Refresh tokens and sensitive credentials are encrypted at rest using AES-256 and stored in a secrets manager.
Access to production systems is protected by role-based access control and multi-factor authentication for staff.
We retain advertising performance data for each client only as long as necessary to provide reporting and optimization services; retention periods are documented per client agreement.
Clients may revoke our access at any time via Google account settings; we will immediately stop API calls for revoked accounts and securely delete corresponding refresh tokens upon confirmation.

Note for Google review: We do not share client ad data with third parties. All exported reports are accessible only to the respective client and our authorized staff.

System Architecture (high level)

A short technical summary that describes our data flow:

User (Client) → Web UI (chld.me) → Backend API → Google Ads API
  • Frontend: React-based web dashboard for clients and internal users
  • Backend: Node.js / Python microservices that perform API calls and schedule jobs
  • Database: PostgreSQL for metadata, encrypted secrets manager for OAuth tokens
  • Reporting: Batch jobs that query GoogleAdsService and store aggregates for dashboards

Expected Scale

We currently manage ~100 Google Ads accounts and expect growth. Our application design and quotas are sized to handle this scale with batching and rate limit handling.
